DELIBEE CRAFTS

INTERESTED IN A COMMISSION?

The primary purpose of this page is to let you know all the ins and outs involved in creating your special something so that we don’t get any surprises. Yes, it’s long.. But it’ll help, honest!

I make handmade, crocheted, items to order. Even when working from a pattern, each design will have a slight variation due to the nature of making things by hand. In general, I’d prefer to do smaller projects like amigurumi, scarves, hats etc but I’m willing to consider blankets*.

If you have any special requirements, please let me know before we come to an agreement. Sometimes it will take a bit longer to get certain materials, or a pattern, so I’d rather we both understand that before any transaction occurs.

PRICING

Items are priced to include creation time as well as materials, shipping and processing fees. I have a terrible habit of under valuing my time, so feel free to add a little extra if you feel inclined to do so.

*Just a note about blankets: These things take a LOT of time and effort, even simple designs. Unless you’re willing to part with $150-200+ it’s probably better to hit up a department store. (Just being honest, here.)

PAYMENT

I accept PayPal and cheque as forms of payment.  If you do not have a PayPal account, you can still use PayPal to pay with your credit card or debit card without signing up for a PayPal account. Payment by cheque will be an extra $5 processing. Payment is due before I’ll accept the commission.

PATTERNS

If you have a specific pattern that you’d like me to do, please let me take a peek at it before we go ahead with working together. I want to make sure it’s something that I feel I can do well. If I’m not sure, I’ll tell you!
I’m happy to help find a pattern for you, if you have a general idea in mind. This will involve some back and forth, while we suss out the right look. If the pattern isn’t available for free, it’ll be up to you to purchase it!

A good place to look for fun patterns is Ravelry. There’s lots of free patterns, as well as paid. Etsy also has some amazing crochet patterns available, but those have a price tag.

YARN

If yarn has to be ordered, it can take a while to arrive. Due to the whole plague thing, I’m not going to brick and mortar stores (not even for curbside pickups.)

This does mean that it can be tricky to get just the right yarn, and sometimes the colours can be a bit different from how they look on websites. If a project has multiple colours, I try to use the same brand/type of yarn for the whole thing so that it has a more uniform appearance.

I have a couple of sites that I use to order yarn, that are pretty good about stock levels and delivery times. If they’re out of stock on a certain colour, I can absolutely shop elsewhere but it’ll probably cost more. Alternatively, we can give it a few days and see if the right stuff becomes available again.

LEAD TIME

Because each piece is made to order, my lead time is order specific and can range from 1-6 weeks depending on size and design complexity. Orders are made in the order they are received unless you have a specific reason for a rush.

PHOTOS / STREAMING ON TWITCH

I’m proud of my work and I love to share progress/completion photos. Please let me know if you want me to refrain from doing so. I understand that what you’ve ordered might be a gift, and you wouldn’t want to ruin a surprise.. Or that you might just want to keep it personal.

I livestream most of my crochet on Twitch, so you can watch me make your order. If you would prefer that I don’t do so, please let me know before we make an agreement. Orders that I can work on, while on stream, will take priority though.

SHIPPING

Shipping is offered through USPS and should* take between 3-10 days (*pending service issues.) Shipping costs vary depending on the size and weight of your order. Things can be shipped faster, or through an alternative carrier, but at extra cost to you.

TL;DR

Handmade items are cool, but they take time. They aren’t fast, they aren’t cheap, but they ARE awesome!
